Just imagine the players we'd be going for if we stayed at UP and the club had died?

Re: Snodgrass
I love that people are ridiculing the fact we've made an offer for Snodgrass given the amount we've reportedly bid.

Whether he would improve us is a moot point considering the offer is derisory!

Ha Ha Ha Ha!!!

What makes me laugh is that Snodgrass is probably playing better than at any time in his career... Hull's really shining light in their season.... and we go... Ok we'll offer them £3m.... Ha Ha Ha Ha... it's fucking laughable

Are we going backwards?
Offering 3m for a player from Hull who we arguably should have signed 3 or 4 years ago for 10m and trying to re-sign Defoe and Glen Johnson in their 30s.

I thought the move was about moving the club on if nothing else.
Fucking piss takers.

Snodgrass is a good player for the squad but there are better available. A real statement of intent would be Schneiderlin, Hogan, Hernandez, Snodgrass, a right back. Price = 80 million + wages.

I make you right, that lot would improve us. After all the big talk I honestly thought we would be spending around the 80m on proven quality. We are all sensible enough to know we aren’t in the same league as Man City etc. but we certainly aren’t in the same league as the West Brom’s and Southampton’s.

What really done it for me was when JS was asked via twitter why we only spent around the 35m/40m during the summer and the reply was we were still 100m in debt. Really!!

That is after we were led to believe that the debt was being paid off, first it was down to 80m then 70m and that along with FFP was the excuses used to cover up our lack of spending during the previous summers.

We have been well and truly had by the Dave’s.

Re: Snodgrass
I put this on the other thread...

Someone who likes numbers and researches the finances...Has someone got the relative current revenues of Liverpool, Tottenham and West Ham?

Is their merchandising so much more than ours?

Are we still in debt? How comes and how much and does that include selling UP to offset it?

Without a stadium to build and improve and debt to service for that, surely going forward we can outspend these 2 clubs now in terms of the quality of player we bring in and even the numbers? Why aren't we?

Can someone enlighten me why we never go for the same level of players that Spurs, Liverpool and Everton do?

Re: Snodgrass
What sort of fruit loop would wake up and say I am going to bid £3m for Hull's best player Robert Snodgrass and not expect to get laughed at?
Probably the same one who would offer £6m to Sunderland for the one player that stands between them and 10's of millions in Premier league revenue.
Should have a word with Pep tonight about taking Aguero for £5m while we are at it.

Complete and utter buffoonery.

But owners who wont invest capital would not go near. They talk about 30 - 50 million being a lot.

You need to do that every season and over multiple ones and to invest it wisely to get anywhere near the top 6 on a regular basis.

Hence we will never get there with S & G. One injury or two to the better players and we are looking at geezers playing out of position to cover.

What is shocking though is that even without injuries we do not have a right back and only 1 beanpole forward made of glass.
